Farm Market closed this week This week only, the Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be closed due to the Fredonia Farm Festival. The market will resume normal operations on Sept.2. Murray Post Auxiliary meets again Monday The John T. Murray Post 1017 Auxiliary recently met at the post in Dunkirk. President Pat Rabb presided over the meeting. Dash for Cash tickets now available Dash for Cash tickets with a theme of Kickoff for Kindness are available for a limited time as a fund-raiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County. Tickets are $25 each and drawings will be held on two different days. On Aug. 31, there will be an Early Bird Prize of $500. Mass set for former pastor A Memorial Mass for the Rev. Charles J. Zadora will be at 7 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia. Zadora, who served as Pastor of St. Joseph from 1999 to the time of his retirement in August of 2016 passed away on Aug. 3.

Brocton-Portland Seniors meet BROCTON — Brocton-Portland Seniors met July 25 at Brocton Legion with 52 members in attendance. George Travis led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by Rose Giambra’s prayer of thanks. Lucy Hurley entertained with her voice, songs and keyboard tunes. Luncheon of hamburgers and hot dogs by Tom DeJoe doing the grill, with members dishes and desserts, was so good.
