— HANOVER — William J. Hayes, 62, of North Tonawanda, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies responded at 4:12 p.m. Thursday to a vehicle off the road on Beebe Road in the town of Hanover. An investigation found that Hayes was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court later.

— Austin R. Sample, 21, of Brocton, and Kimberly A. Vannorstand, 26, of Curwensville, Pa., were each charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident. Sample and Vannorstand allegedly attempted to obstruct a missing juvenile investigation by providing false information to deputies regarding the whereabouts of the juvenile. Vannorstand also allegedly attempted to have the juvenile change her appearance in order to impede the investigation. Both are scheduled to appear in court later.

JAMESTOWN

POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Benjamin J. Preston, 41, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree harassment and first-degree criminal contempt. Officers responded at 5:09 p.m. Thursday to the east side of the city for a harassment complaint. An investigation found that Preston allegedly grabbed and threatened another person while there was an order of protection in place. Preston was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

— Carl J. Yanik, 64, of Kennedy, was charged with uninspected motor vehicle, inadequate plate lamps and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Tyrone L. Harrison, 58, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police stopped a vehicle at 11:36 p.m. Thursday on North Main Street for observed traffic infractions. An investigation found that Harrison had active Jamestown City Court bench warrants. Harrison was also allegedly found with a quantity of fentanyl while Yanik was allegedly found with a quantity of cocaine as well as buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual films. Harrison was transported to jail and held on the bench warrants. Yanik is scheduled to appear in court later.
