Gowanda Thespian Society performances postponed

The performances this week of “You Can’t Beat the House” by the Gowanda Thespian Society originally scheduled today through Saturday, Feb. 2 are postponed due to inclement weather. The senior citizen preview is rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. The evening showings open to students, families, and the community are rescheduled Thursday, Feb. 7 and Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. Tickets available for purchase at the door at Gowanda High School.

Lakeshore Humane Society sets fundraiser

Bowl for a good cause by coming to the Lakeshore Humane Society’s fourth annual “Pins for Paws” fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lucky Lanes Bowling Center, 10387 Bennett Road in Fredonia. (This event is rescheduled from its original date, due to a snow storm. Tickets held for the original date will be honored.)

Tickets are $12.50 each, which include two games and shoes. Tickets are available at the LHS Adoption Center (431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk), from LHS members or at the door (until sold out). Al Tech / D.S.S. Retirees breakfast Feb. 2

The Al Tech / D.S.S. Retirees breakfast club will meet on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 9 a.m. at the Bob Evans Restaurant, 3877 Vineyard Drive, Dunkirk.

Charlie Rodriguez House Fire Rebuild benefit set for Feb. 1

A Charlie Rodriguez House Fire Rebuild benefit will be held Friday, Feb. 1 from 3 to 7 p.m. or sold out at the American Legion Post 327, 7579 E. Route 20, Westfield. The $10 admission includes a spaghetti dinner or a roast beef sandwich. A child’s menu is available for $5. Other events include a Chinese auction, 50/50 and, DJ karaoke to follow. Pre-sale tickets are available by calling the Legion at 326-3924, or purchase tickets at the door.

Literacy Volunteers plan book sale for today through Feb. 2

Looking for a good book to read? 21 East Bookstore has an eclectic selection of used books. Enjoy a good book and support a worthy cause. The LVCC Bookstore is located at 21 E. Second St., Dunkirk and is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The next Literacy Volunteer Book sale will be Thursday, Jan. 31 through Saturday, Feb. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds benefit adult literacy.
