Al Tech/ D.S.S. Retirees to meet today

Al Tech/ Dunkirk Specialty Steel retirees will meet at Bob Evans, 3877 Vineyard Drive, Dunkirk on Saturday, April 6 at 9 a.m. All retirees are welcome to attend.

Tour of NCLSD wastewater treatment plant today

The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy invites the public to see how the recent upgrades to the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District’s wastewater treatment plant have resulted in significant, measurable improvements to the wastewater discharge — and to Chautauqua Lake’s water quality! Scott Cummings, NCLSD Director, will lead the tour, which will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 at the 50 Clark St. facility in Mayville. The tour is free and open to the public. South Dayton Daffodil Festival today

Today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Daffodil Festival will take place at the South Dayton Firemen’s Activity Hall, 34 Maple St., South Dayton. The event includes a craft show, Easter Egg Hunt (toddlers through grade six) at 10 a.m., Easter Bunny from 10:30 to noon and a chicken and biscuit dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors and children.

Take part in the dessert contest; dessert must containing at least one of the following: orange, banana, lemon, pineapple, maple syrup or chocolate. Registration is from 10 to 11 a.m., with judging at 11 a.m. Dessert auction set for noon. Call 988-5975 for details.

South Dayton Fire Dept. to host fundraiser

Today, April 6 at 7 p.m., the South Dayton Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a ham, chocolate and Easter basket part at the fire department activities hall, 34 Maple St., South Dayton.

Take part in raffles of hams and Easter baskets, 50/50 drawings, door prizes and free refreshments in support of the South Dayton Volunteer Fire Company.

Westfield American Legion to host indoor lawn sale

The Westfield American Legion Post 327 Ladies Auxiliary is hosting an indoor lawn sale fundraiser which began Friday and continues through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For $10, individuals can reserve a space to sell their items. Tables are available for an extra fee. Enjoy treats from the bake sale and shop the Auxiliary’s selection of discounted Rada Cutlery. For more information, call 326-3924 or 2699024.

Villenova Grange to host pancake brunch

The Villenova Grange, Routes 83 and 22, Balcoms Corners in South Dayton, is hosting a pancake brunch this Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for large and $7 for small and are available at the door.

4-H pancake breakfast Sunday

There will be an all-you-can-eat 4-H pancake breakfast at the Stockton Fire Hall Sunday, April 7 at 8 to noon. Cost is $8 per person.

Firemen’s Association announces meeting

The South Western Association of Volunteer Firemen has announced their next quarterly business meeting.

It will be hosted by the Rushford Fire Department in the town of Rushford in Allegany County on Sunday, April 7. The meeting will take place at the Rushford Fire Department located at 8911 Upper Street in the Town of Rushford. The executive meeting will begin at noon and the general membership meeting to start at 1 p.m.

The association is comprised of volunteer firefighters and EMS providers of fire departments and rescue squads in the four counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Erie counties of New York.
