Lakeshore Humane Society to host scrap metal drive

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Scrap Metal Drive at its Adoption Center on Saturday, June 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine). The Adoption Center is located at 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk.

Through the support of Jolly Roger Recycling of Fredonia and Mom & Pops Recycling of Cassadaga, LHS is offering this opportunity to the public to clean-up our basements, garages, yards, and localities, while benefitting the LHS in its work to help dogs and cats in need of loving homes.

There will be drive-through drop off of items. Acceptable items are aluminum, brass, copper, steel, clean aluminum cans, appliances, baking pans, pots & pans, bikes, car parts, extension cords, fans, grills, hot water tanks, lawn chairs, snow blowers, sinks, anything metal, as well as car batteries.

No TVs, computer monitors or components, appliances with freon, radioactive materials. These items will not be accepted.

There will be refreshments available and the weekly LHS Adoption Day will be held from noon to 3 p.m.
