Alumni reunion performance canceled

The Silver Creek Central School Music Alumni reunion and performance planned for Friday and Saturday has been canceled.

The organizing committee regrets that it has been unable to confirm enough participants to successfully complete a program, but wishes to thank all those who responded and all those who tried to make this event happen.

Gowanda High School Class of 1949 reunion

The Gowanda High School Class of 1949 will be holding their 70th class reunion on Saturday, July 6 at 1 p.m. on the back patio of Rolling Hills Restaurant, 2990 Route 39 in Collins. For more information, call 257-9149.

Evans Garden Club annual picnic reservations needed

The Evans Garden Club will hold their annual picnic on July 9 at 6 p.m. The picnic will be coordinated and hosted by The Board Members. It will be held at The Bluff’s Clubhouse, 6472 Old Lakeshore Road, Derby. Members may bring a dish to pass. Meat and beverages will be supplied by The Board. R.S.V.P. requested by July 5. The Brocton village board workshop scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 has been cancelled due to the Independence Day holiday.

Valley Historical Society to meet today

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will hold a patriotic meeting this Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the museum at the corner of Main and Lester Streets. To celebrate the birthday of America, there will be a patriotic cake for refreshments. A program entitled “A patriotic moment” will be held. Everyone is welcome.

Museum open houses in Cattaraugus County on Sunday

Medora Ball Historical Museum in Otto will be open Sunday afternoon, July 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. It features artifacts, photographs and local history. This museum is located in the First Congregational Church of Otto (top of East Hill) at 9068 Otto/East Otto Road.

The Cattaraugus Area Historical Museum will be open Sunday afternoon, July 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. at 23 Main St., Cattaraugus (next to the library). This local history museum has its focus on Cattaraugus.
