Bear cub spotted in Fredonia

A Fredonia resident contacted the OBSERVER to state that he saw a black bear cub on Webster Road, east of Seymour Street, Fredonia. Bear cubs are generally harmless, however cubs’ mothers can be very aggressive. If you were to see a bear cub, do not approach it. The resident contacted the police station as well.

Town continues zoning revision meetings

The town of Dunkirk Zoning and Planning Board will hold a workshop at 5 p.m. on Thursday in the town hall. The purpose of the workshop is to continue with zoning revisions the town code.

Laona United Methodist to hold camp fundraiser

A lawn sale/bake sale fundraiser for Kingdom Kids Camp, a camp for underprivileged children, is taking place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Laona United Methodist Church on the corner of Wilson and Porter roads in Laona.

Enjoy delicious baked goods and find a special treasure or two on Saturday, while supporting a great cause. This is the fourth year of Kingdom Kids Camp, which was started by Bruce and Evie Sievert and relies solely on donations. For more information, contact Evie at 673-1051.
