John T. Murray Post 1017 Auxiliary dinner set for Oct. 3

The John T.Murray Post 1017 Auxiliary will be hosting a goulash dinner on Thursday, Oct 3 at the Post, 113 Deer St., Dunkirk, from 5 to 7 p.m. Dinner includes salad, goulash and dessert for a donation of $10. Take outs will be available. There will be a veterans’ special complete dinner for $5; EAT IN ONLY. With questions, call Pat at 341-1328 and leave a message.

Historical Society to Meet

The Valley Historical Society will meet for the monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., at 7 p.m.

Valerie Nosie will speak on “American Indian education in the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus area” and the Thomas Indian School in Irving, New York. All interested persons are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Fredonia-Pomfret Democrats to meet

The Fredonia-Pomfret Democrats will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Barker Library, 7 Day St., Fredonia. All are welcome.

Center for Elder Law and Justice (“CELJ”) offers Mobile Legal Unit event Oct. 2

The Center for Elder Law and Justice (“CELJ”) will host a Mobile Legal Unit event to provide “done in a day” legal assistance for adults. These events provide an opportunity for seniors to have legal questions answered by an attorney and paralegal team. A Mobile Legal Unit Event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dunkirk Senior Center, 45 Cliffstar Court, Dunkirk. Donuts and coffee will be provided.

Sheridan Historical Society to meet Sept. 30

The Sheridan Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. at the Historical Center, 2702 Route 20 at Center Road. All are welcome. For more information, call 672-2201.
