Dunkirk collecting Christmas trees

Dunkirk residents wishing to dispose of Christmas trees may do so at the Streets Department on Lucas Avenue by placing them on the brush pile. Residents may leave trees at the curb then call the Streets Department at 366-4411 and leave the address. Trees will then be picked up when personnel is available.

Sons of the American Legion meeting

The Sons of the American Legion, Squad 434 Brocton, will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Brocton Legion, 110 W. Main St., Brocton.

Evans Garden Club to meet Jan. 14

The Evans Garden Club will meet Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Angola Library, 34 N. Main St., Angola. Town of Evans Supervisor, Mary Hosler, will present a talk about what’s happening in the community. She will bring attendees up to date on the latest issues and events. Refreshments will be served. All are invited to attend.

Unit 62 auxiliary meeting

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Post 62,

Girls State interviews will be held prior to the meeting at 630 p.m., followed by the monthly meeting.

Auxiliary members are encouraged to attend and participate in selecting Unit 62 Girls State representatives for 2020.

New members are always welcome; 2020 dues are currently being accepted.

Gowanda Fire Department spaghetti dinner

The Gowanda Fire Department will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Gowanda American Legion, 100 Legion Drive, Gowanda. Tickets are available at the door. The costs for adults: $9 per ticket; children $5 per meal. Take-outs are available, as well as desserts.
