Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 revised news

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 Annual Memorial Day Chicken BBQ by Weidner’s BBQ will be held on May 25 beginning from noon to 5 p.m. Due to the current pandemic situation and to keep everyone safe, there will be takeouts only with pickup inside or a drive thru at the Legion’s rear entrance (Eagle Street). Tickets are $12 and currently available at Big Rick’s One Stop Food Mart & Deli, 327 Lake Shore Dr. E. in Dunkirk, or at Post 62 Takeout Wing Nite every Thursday (rear entrance) from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., or at the door. Forestville Memorial Day parade cancelled

The J. Carter Knapp Forestville American Legion Memorial Day parade and ceremony at the Legion grounds has been cancelled.

Valley Historical Society

The June 2 meeting of the Valley Historical Society has been canceled due to the uncertainty of the state reopening plans and for the safety of the members. It is hoped that the July 7 meeting will be held as scheduled, but members should watch the newspaper for updates.
