≤ Creature Feature – Amphibians will be held from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. at the Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown. Meet an Audubon animal or two in this monthly after-school creature feature.Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for nature center members, $6 for children between the ages of 3 and 15 and free for children 2 and under. ≤ The Holy Name Society of the Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish will hold a Weidner’s ribs and chicken barbecue at 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event is drive-through only. Sides include parsley buttered potatoes, baked beans, roll and butter and a cookie. The donation is $15 per dinner. Tickets can be purchased at Big Rick’s, Lake Shore Drive East or 4th Ward Deli, Doughty Street.

≤ The Mayville Farmer’s and Artisan’s Market is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mayville Village Park, at the traffic light at Route 394 and Route 430, Mayville. There will be lunchtime music from noon to 1 p.m., a rock painting table for #MayvilleNYRocks and farmers and artisans set up selling items. ≤ St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold a hot dog lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Meals will include a hot dog, chips, and soda for just $3.
≤ The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Adult Education Faith Committee will be hosting an outdoor Rosary for Peace at 5:30 p.m. in the Grotto area located at 328 Washington Avenue, Dunkirk. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Refreshments will be served following the Rosary. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to inside of the church. All are welcome.

≤ The annual Gold Star Memorial Remembrance Ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on West Third and Logan streets in Jamestown. Sponsored by the Blue Star Mothers New York Chapter 4, it honors those Western New York residents who have died in the service of the United States by memorializing them and acknowledging their Gold Star families left behind. The event features dignitaries, a Color Guard traditional three-volley salute, Taps, memorial wreaths, white balloon release, keynote speaker Holly Baker, past president of the American Gold Star Mothers of New York and American flag presentation by MSgt Jose Pagan, first sergeant in the Air Force Reserves. The public is invited, but should bring a chair and umbrella if necessary. Seating is limited to honorees.
