The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society will hold a can and bottle drive from 9 a.m. to noon in the Doughty and Roberts Road parking lot.

Fredonia Farm Festival at Chautauqua County Fairgrounds

There will be craft vendors from 9 a.m. to dusk, food vendors from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., performances by Tim Bartlett on the Main Stage from 9 to 10 a.m.; Furious George Acoustic from 11 a.m. to noon on the Mini Stage; Doug Osborne-Coy from noon to 1 p.m. on the Main Stage; The Patsy & Dottie Variety Show from 1 to 3 p.m. on the Mini Stage; Coda from 3 to 6 p.m. on the Main Stage; a Family Sing Along with Kay Barlow from 3 to 6 p.m. on the Mini Stage; Joe and the Schmoes from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Mini Stage and XOXO Pop Band from 8 to 10 p.m. on the Main Stage. Other activities include a cornhole tournament and a kids power wheel demolition derby.

Gowanda Community Chalk Art Day and Ducky Derby

The Gowanda Mural Project will host a chalk art event, which will include a kids’ art zone, from 10 a.m. to to 4 p.m. At 7 pm., the Ducky Derby will be held in Gateway Park at 7 p.m. Ducks can be purchased and named for $5 each. The top ten finishers will receive cash prizes. The Derby is sponsored by the Gowanda Area Chamber. Tickets can be purchased at a number of Gowanda businesses.

Jamestown Public Market

The Jamestown Public Market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Third Street, downtown Jamestown. The market includes local farmers, homesteaders, food businesses, prepared food vendors and local craft artisans For more information, visit www.jtownpublicmarket.org/farmers-market.

Darwin R. Barker Library book sale

The Barker Library, 7 Day St., Fredonia, will hold a book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.

Audubon Monarch Butterfly Festival

The Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, will have a room filled with wildflowers and Monarchs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Activities include Monarch story time, butterfly tagging demonstrations, live caterpillars, butterfly nets to borrow, nature walks, butterfly programs, a food truck and more. The butterfly release occurs at 6 p.m. Costs are $8 adults, $6 members and children 3 to 15, and free for 2 and under.

Lakeshore Humane Society open adoption

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. Masks must be worn if not vaccinated. For details, call 672-1991.

RTPI “Birdday” celebration

The Roger Toy Peterson Institute, 311 Curtis St., Jamestown, will celebrate the 113th birthday of Roger Tory Peterson with live music, food, drink and the unveiling of a new Art and Nature Lab mural from noon to 4 p.m. The musical headliner is Adam McKillip of The Probables. Admission to the party is free. There will be a variety of refreshments available for purchase. There will be $2 off admission to enter the museum, plus a 10% discount on museum store purchases and memberships. It is requested that patrons wear masks when indoors.

75th Anniversary of Dunkirk to Dunkerque Day

Dunkirk Historical Museum, 513Washington Ave.and Washington Park, Dunkirk, 5 to 10 p.m. 5 p.m.: Museum open, food vendors open; 6 p.m. Posting of the Colors; 6:30 p.m.: performance by the 96th Highlanders; 7 p.m.: welcome, speakers; 8 p.m.: the movie “Dunkirk.” Bring seating.

Busti Gazebo concert

The Rustic Ramblers will perform at the Busti Gazebo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs. The event is sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association.

Mental Health Association of Chautauqua County Art of Recovery exhibit

The exhibit takes place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 Main St., Jamestown beginning at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present the movie “ROADRUNNER: A FILM ABOUT ANTHONY BOURDAIN,”at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6.50 for Opera House members/seniors, $5 for students, and sold at the door only. At this time, regardless of vaccination status, ALL patrons are required to wear masks before, during and after Opera House events.

There will be craft vendors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., food vendors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., an antique car show at the farigrounds from noon to 4 p.m.; a performance by Bad Habit from noon to 3 p.m. on the Mini Stage; the Grand Parade at the Grandstand at 1 p.m., the Mo Porter Party Band on the Main Stage from 3 to 6 p.m. and a Family Sing Along with Kay Barlow on the Mini Stage at 3 p.m.

Mental Health Association of Chautauqua County Art Recovery Sunday

The service takes place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 Main St., Jamestown beginning at 10 a.m. It commemorates National Overdose Awareness Day, honoring all those who have lost their lives to drug overdose in Chautauqua County over this past year by lighting candles and tolling bells while reading their names. MHA Executive Director, Steven Cobb will be the guest preacher and MHA Staff will lead a NARCAN training following the service.

Cassadaga Farmers’ Market

The Cassadaga Farmers’ Market will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Cassadaga Village Common at the corner of Route 60 and Maple Avenue. Roberto Fred will be back with his selection of fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables and other food items.

Peaceful Soul Farmers’ Market

The Peaceful Soul Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 11359 Southwestern Blvd., Irving. It features a variety of vendors.

St. Joseph’s bingo

Bingo will take place at St. Joseph’s parish, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia. Doors open at 5 p.m.; bingo begins at 7. Masks should be worn by those not vaccinated and social distancing will be observed.

Central Connection Bike Ride

This “slow roll” begins at 6 p.m. The event is free and no registration is necessary for the ride. The ride will start on Church Street in Fredonia and proceed to Temple Street for a ride thru SUNY Fredonia. Once cyclists exit SUNY Fredonia, they will proceed on Central Avenue and head toward the City Pier in Dunkirk.

Cassadaga Legion Post 1280 Cruise Night

The Cassadaga Legion Squadron 1280 will hold a cruise night at Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be drawings, food, music, cool cars and fun. For details, call Chuck at 410-4317 or the Legion at 595-3145.

Dunkirk Elks Lodge bingo

Dunkirk Elks Lodge bingo will be held at Central Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission sales begin at 6 p.m. Games start at 7 p.m. Social distancing will be followed. Masks must be worn by those who are not fully vaccinated.
