Library to be part of yard sales
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library will participate in Sinclairville’s Village Yard Sales on Saturday, July 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here’s how you can help the library: Donations of items to be sold are welcome. Please bring these items to the library on Thursday between 2 and 7 p.m. or Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Items that remain unsold will be donated elsewhere as appropriate. You can also help by purchasing items at the sale and/or helping man tables during the sale. For additional information or to volunteer, please call the library at 716-962-5885. The library will be closed on July 4 for the holiday.
Fredonia plans street work next week
The village of Fredonia will oil and stone the following streets Thursday and Friday: Norton Place, Spring Street, Hamlet Street, Washington Avenue, Porter Avenue, Prospect Street, Chautauqua Street, Link Street, Elm Street, Georges Place, Woodcrest Drive and Maple Avenue.
Free community meal set for July 9
GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, at Erie Avenue and Park Street, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance from 4 to 6 p.m. on July 9. The menu includes hot dogs (1 or 2), baked beans, chips, pickle and cookies. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up.
The next meal will be Aug. 13.
Valley Historical Society meets Tuesday
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will hold its July meeting at the museum in Sinclairville on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The program will be on the history of the Declaration of Independence. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend.
