FLEA MARKET SET FOR SHERIDAN
SHERIDAN — A flea market will be at the VFW Memorial Post, 2556 Route 20. The hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.
In addition to the market, there will be a Friday night fish fry and Saturday breakfast and lunch served by the VFW. Breakfast menu includes a Danish, Breakfast sandwiches on homemade biscuits, fresh brewed coffee. Lunch menu includes homemade soup of the week, pizza and wings.
The VFW offers a full service bar for a variety of beverages. Come support our Veterans. Shop for great merchandise from local vendors. For information and booth rentals, call 814-779-5553.
THRIFTY KITTY STORE OPENS NEXT WEEK
WESTFIELD — The 10th annual Thrifty Kitty Christmas Store will open Tuesday at 3 Elm St. in Westfield. The hours will be noon to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. A wide variety of used Christmas decorations is available at low prices. Christmas trees to home decor items fill the store. Donations will be accepted during store hours only.
HISTORICAL ACCOUNT PLANNED ON NOV. 5
On Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m., the Sheridan Historical Society will host a presentation by Leon Historical Society educator Tina Scherman. She will portray Mary Jemison, an Irish immigrant who was adopted into the Seneca tribe in the mid-18th century and who became known as “the white woman of the Genesee.” As Mary, she will give an account of her experiences on the frontier of Western New York and Pennsylvania.
The event will be held at the Sheridan Historical Society Building at the corner of Route 20 and Center Road in Sheridan. The public is invited to attend. There is no charge for admission. The hall exhibits will be open to visitors from noon to 2 prior to the presentation. Refreshments will follow.
PATTERSON LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE NOV. 5
WESTFIELD — The Patterson Library will be hosting a special open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5. as an opportunity to recognize donors. The event is open to past, current, and prospective Patterson Society members. Tours will be offered for those interested in learning about the various rooms and services within the library.
