Sons of Revolution meet Feb. 11

The Chautauqua Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will meet on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Sister’s Restaurant on the Falconer-Kimball Stand Road. Members will continue working on the placement of plaques in county cemeteries where veterans of the War for Independence are laid to rest.

The S.A.R. is a group of men that trace their ancestry to a veteran of the Revolutionary War. All persons interested in American history are welcome to attend as well as spouses. Lunch will be ordered from the menu. For more information, contact Steve Boothe, president, @ 716-574-7995.

‘Neighbor’ is theme of service

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua at 222 Temple Street in Fredonia, holds a Sunday worship service at 11 a.m., both at their physical location and on Zoom. For those wishing to join us virtually, please visit https://tinyurl.com/caluucnc. Click on “Worship Service” on the date you are attending and scroll down for the Zoom link. For those attending the in-person service, please follow the driveway and park in the lower lot behind the building.

The theme for February is Love. Sunday’s worship service “Who is Our Neighbor” with the Rev. Sally Hamlin will ask the following: When you live in a rural county with a few small villages, how easy is it to get to know one another? What is the meaning of church/religion/faith community to you? Hamlin will encourage us to take a look at who UUCNC’s neighbors are, and how the congregation can move outside our walls to welcome our neighbors.

Sunday is also Share the Plate Sunday. The offering, unless marked for a pledge, will be sent to the Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc., Safe House of Chautauqua County. Make checks payable to UUCNC, with the Memo Share the Plate, or cash is gratefully accepted! Or consider making a generous gift by clicking on this link: https://tinyurl.com/DonateUUCNC

All Share the Plate gifts received in February will support the Safe House of Chautauqua County.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua strives to be a vibrant, welcoming, multigenerational, diverse community enlivened by the power of radical love.
