1968 classes to

mark 55 years

The 1968 classes from Dunkirk High School and Cardinal Mindszenty High School will celebrate the 55 years since that June graduation with a reunion on Friday, Aug. 4 beginning at 6 p.m. The event will be at Dunkirk’s American Legion Post 62, 211 Central Ave.

Other events will occur that first August weekend, including city sponsored music at the pier or Memorial Park on Thursday while Saturday’s usually include music at the Beach House Grill in Wright Park.

There may be a small charge, details to follow. Hope to see others there.

Beekeepers Association to meet monthly

JAMESTOWN — The Chautauqua County Beekeepers Association will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Avenue in Jamestown. The meeting will feature roundtable discussions of critical seasonal apiary management duties such as assessing winter stores, purchasing bees and winter feeding, including how to make your own fondant. Food pantry opens Feb. 18

On Saturday, Feb. 18, the Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

Wind turbine meeting set for Monday

HAMBURG — Citizens Against Wind Turbines in Lake Erie will be meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m. The meeting willl discuss the recent NYSERDA report recommending turbines being kept out of the Great Lakes. The event will be at the Southtowns Walleye Building, 5895 Route 20.
