Gas prices continue steep hikes The national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.94, up 22 cents from March 16. One year ago, the price was $3.13. The New York state average is $3.86, up 24 cents from last Monday. A year ago, the state average was $3.10. In Chautauqua County, gas prices on Monday were between $3.69 and $3.80 per gallon. Chicken barbecue set for Sunday SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting their first Chicken Barbecue of the year on Sunday. This is a fundraising event. Serving begins at noon until sold out. A full meal consists of half chicken, scalloped potatoes, roll, applesauce, pickle, and a beverage for $15. Chicken halves are also available for $8 each. Blood drive set for today WESTFIELD — This March, the Community Blood Bank is giving donors even more reason to feel lucky. As part of its 60th anniversary celebration, CBB is offering all presenting blood donors in the month of March the chance to win an Orlando vacation for themselves and a guest, made possible in part by Breeze Airways.
