Paws For Laughter set for Sept. 16 Paws For Laughter is a comedy show featuring five local comedians telling jokes to benefit Lakeshore Humane Society. It will take place at Downtown Brew at 13 Water St. in Fredonia on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 and there will be prize drawings after the show. Pomfret hearing is canceled The town of Pomfret Zoning Board has canceled its public hearing on Thursday, Aug. 17. Rabies clinic set for Aug. 24 ELLINGTON — The Chautauqua County Health Department has announced a free rabies vaccination clinic on Thursday, Aug. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Town of Ellington Highway Garage, 763 East Main St. The clinic is co-sponsored by the town of Ellington and Chautauqua County Health Department. Leon Town Picnic set for Aug. 19 The town of Leon will host their annual town picnic/fire equipment display on Saturday, Aug. 19 beginning at noon with lunch served starting at 1 p.m.. The event is open to all past and present town of Leon residents. Clymer Hill Road to have construction On Monday, construction crews will be rehabilitating Clymer Hill Road, County Route 19. The Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities announced that roadwork will start that day and will continue until complete. The road will not be closed during construction, however, lane closures are expected. Flaggers and signage will be posted during the week day hours of 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A detour will NOT be posted. Fredonia Food Pantry to be open Saturday On Saturday, Aug. 19, the Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona.
