Editor, OBSERVER: The true situation in Texas with the outage was caused by infrastructure shortcomings and insufficient planning for extreme weather and not by renewable energy failures. It was readily apparent that the front-page story belonged in the Opinion section — and not presented as factual news. Remembering a parishioner

Editor, OBSERVER: Long gone but not forgotten. Sister Rosemary Lockett gives support to the old saying – May the work I have done, speak for me. She was a lifelong member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. A faithful worker serving on the Usher Boar; Sunday school working with the youth; served as church clerk and church secretary. There’s worries with lake turbines

Editor, OBSERVER: The big corporations speak of renewable energy, but the one thing that is not renewable is our great lakes. They always compare how many houses the wind farm turbines power. I say what is wrong with solar roof-top construction on homes those that want it get it installed and let the government subsidize the homeowners instead of the big corporations? Unhappy trails while snowmobiling

Editor, OBSERVER: Recently my two girlfriends and I set out for an afternoon cross county ski on a trail shared with cross country skiers, hikers, and snowmobilers. The snow conditions were good and the trail was well groomed and very wide. As the trails were busy with snowmobilers, we stayed to the right occupying one third of the trail. During our ski we encountered many snowmobilers who were courteous, slowed down, formed a single line and waved as they passed us. Editor, OBSERVER: I read the letter, “We all need to accept the results” (Dec. 22) and, to say the least, I could not believe it. The writer said it does not make sense a challenger would be able to steal an election. He says accept the truth of the election, I suppose like they did when President Donald Trump was elected and they shouted “not my president” and tried everything in heaven and earth to remove him from office.
