Hillbillies, Marauders find success at Section VI Indoor Track 9th & 10th Grade Championships

HOUGHTON — At the Section VI Indoor Track 9th and 10th Grade Championships this past weekend, several Hillbillies and Marauders found success with top ten finishes.

Fredonia’s Adam Lesch was the lone first place finisher as he took first place in the 9th grade division 3,200m run with a time of 11:44.44. Dunkirk’s Alexis Davis had a thrilling second place finish in the 10th grade 55m dash, beating the third place runner by .007 seconds with a time of 8.072. Davis added another top three finish in the 300m getting third with a time of 46.46.

The Hillbillie’s Mackenzie Swan took fourth in the 55m hurdles 9th grade division after getting a personal best time of 10.91. Ashlyn Ambrose also had a great day for the ‘Billies getting eighth in the 10th grade division 600m with a season’s best time of 1:55.94.

The Marauder’s only other individual top 10 finish came from Luis Balcazar in the 9th grade division 55m dash with a time of 7.73.

For the field events, Fredonia 7th grader Abby Lauer took 11th place in the high jump with a height of 4’2” and Gianna Gullo took ninth in the 9th grade division for shot put with a throw of 21′ 10 3/4″.
