Dog training workshop Saturday
A dog training workshop and fundraiser for K9 Vision Inc. of Tonawanda will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Dunkirk Point Gratiot lower and music pavilions. The cost is $10 for early registration and $15 on site. The event will be hosted by Carmen Quinones and K9 Vision Inc of Tonawanda.
Reorganizational meeting in Ripley
RIPLEY — A reorganizational meeting of the Ripley Central School Board followed immediately by a regular board meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, in the cafeteria of the Ripley Central School.

St. John’s United Church of Christ hot dog lunch
St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold a hot dog lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Meals will include a hot dog, chips, and soda for just $3.
City of Dunkirk “Summer Better Than Others Day Camp”
registrations for non-city residents
Parents can sign up children who have graduated from kindergarten (ages 5 through 11) for a week of summer day camp at Camp Gross in Cassadaga. There are six sessions of recreational, athletic and educational experiences available for the weeks from July 12 ending Aug. 13. Youth to staff ratio is 6:1 and lower for waterfront activities. Children may be signed up for a maximum of two weeks. Children will be picked up and dropped off by bus at five designated locations in Dunkirk. The cost for one week of camp for City of Dunkirk residents is $40 per child, with every additional child in the family at $30 per child. Junior Camp Counselors ages 12 to 15 years are free. Registration will take place at the James Murphy Volunteer Fireman’s Training Grounds Conference Building, 665 Brigham Road, Dunkirk this week from 1 to 4 p.m. Starting June 28,registration for non-city residents will take place at a cost of $50 first child/$35 other children in the family.
First Friday in the Village of Westfield

Audubon MAPS bird banding demonstration
Drop in between 6 a.m. to noon to observe the capture of birds in “mist” nets, fitting them with identification bands, measuring, weighing and releasing them. Come to the pavilion on the West Side of the Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Drive, Jamestown close to Route 62. The demonstration is free, but donations are appreciated. Do not bring dogs.

Walk the grounds of the Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The event is free, but donations are encouraged. Reservations are requested by July 1. Walk-ins will be accepted if there is room.
