Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce annual golf tournament at Peek ‘n Peak

Mayville’s Farmers’ Market

Mayville Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market is held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mayville Village Park, at the traffic light at Route 394 and Route 430, Mayville. It features farmers and artisans, with special events TBA.

Rosary for Peace in the World

This recurring Rosary takes place on the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 328 Washington Ave., Dunkirk.

Music on the Pier concert

A concert in the “Music on the Pier” concert series in Dunkirk features Pedro and the Smooth Cats from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and The Eaglez Tribute Band from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free to the public. Ice chests are allowed.

Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association annual show

The CCAEA show will begin at 8 a.m. at the grounds, 4578 Cemetery Road, Stockton. There will be Ford and Fordson tractors, Oil-Field engines, a flea market, auction, tractor pulls, parades, household and antique equipment demonstrations, kid activities and crafts. Free parking. Gate admission $5, free for kids under 14 and current members. Today is $3 for seniors.

St. John’s United Church of Christ hot dog lunch

St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold a hot dog lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Meals will include a hot dog, chips, and soda for just $3.

Community picnic at Cassadaga Beach

Bring a dish to pass at 5:30 p.m. for the Cassadaga Beach community picnic. In addition to food, there will be music and kids’ activities.

Jackson Center Fashion Fantasia in Paradise benefit

A reception begins at the Jackson Center, 305 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, at 6 p.m. The fashion show begins at 7 p.m. at the Center’s Cappa Theatre and will be broadcast nationally to ticket holders with commentary by Dennis Webster. There will be bidding and prize opportunities. In-person tickets are $50, virtual tickets are $40. Call 483-6646 for tickets. Proceeds support free educational programs and stipends to college interns and teacher fellows each year.

Walleye Challenge

The Innovative Outdoors Walleye Challenge is a successful walleye tournament in Dunkirk on the Eastern Basin of Lake Erie that starts at 6 a.m. from Holiday Harbor at Chadwick Bay Marina, 30 Lakeshore Drive, Dunkirk. American Legion Riders of Western New York Chautauqua County, Bike, Dice Run

Registration for the annual American Legion Riders of WNY, Chautauqua County, will be at Post 434 Brocton American Legion from 9 to 10 a.m. Kickstands are up at 10. Cots for single is $15, with rider, $20. Dice $5. Food provided. Chinese auction, 50/50. All proceeds help local veterans.

Fredonia Food Pantry

The Fredonia Food Pantry, Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave., will be open from 10 a.m, to noon. The pantry serves the needs of Fredonia area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

Native Plant Buffer Bonanza

Visit the Chautauqua Marina from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the Native Plant Buffer Bonanza, a benefit for the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy and Chautauqua Lake. The event features educational lakeside buffer walks and a native plant sale, featuring plants from Hickory Hurst Farm, Royal Fern Nursery, Amanda’s Garden, and Turnbull Nursery Inc. & Garden Center. The Dunkirk Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Ruggles Street and Cliffstar Court at the Dunkirk Senior Center. It features local farmers and artisans.

Audubon Creature Feature

Learn about caterpillars the Audubon Community Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. The costs are $8 adults, $6 members and children 3 to 15, and free for 2 and under. Reservations are required by Aug. 23.

Sheridan Concert on the Commons

A concert by the Cassadaga Area Community Band will be held at 6:30 p.m. at 2777 Route 20, Sheridan. Refreshments will be available and benefit the Sheridan VFW Auxiliary and the Sheridan Historical Society.

Fredonia Farm Festival at Chautauqua County Fairgrounds

The Fredonia Farm Festival vendor check-in will be held at the Gazebo in the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. At dusk, the free movie “Raya and the Last Dragon” will be shown at the Mini Stage by Floral Hall.

Summer “Polar Bear” Swim for Charity

Cabana Sam’s, 1028 S. Shore Drive, Irving will be the site of this year’s swim, with proceeds benefiing a Mother Baby Unit at Oishei Hospital. The minimum pledge to swim is $15. Registration begins at 5 p.m., with the swim starting at 6:30 p.m. The event includes an extended Happy Hour from 4 to 9 p.m. with music by Tom Bender from 7 to 11 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for costumes and the swimmer who generates the most pledges. Pick up pledge sheets at Cabana Sam’s.
