Drive for troops set for Oct. 16

On Saturday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fredonia’s Honor Society Tau Sigma will be at Walmart to accept donations for items to U.S. troops Items being sought include personal items, food items, and some miscellaneous items.

Library sets book sale for autumn

BROCTON — The Ahira Hall Memorial Library will be holding an autumn book sale Monday to Friday, Oct. 22. Stop by the library during regular open hours to shop the sale on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Fridays 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information call (716) 792-9418

Swiss steak dinner is Oct. 16

On Saturday, Oct. 16, St. John’s United Church of Christ will be holding a Swiss steak dinner. The meal will include swiss steak, mashed potatoes, vegetable, and dessert. The cost is $12.

Dinners may be picked up between 4:30 and 6 p.m. at the drive-up in the parking lot. No need to leave your car! Please enter the parking lot from Eagle Street. Please order your ticket(s) by Oct.10, by calling the church office at 366-0710.
