The bluegrass band “The Special Consensus” will perform at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 general admission, $18 Opera House members, $10 students. At this time, ALL patrons are asked to wear masks when attending Opera House events.

SUNY Fredonia Department of Theatre and Dance presents: “The Wild Party”

Rockefeller Arts Center, Marvel Theatre, 7:30 p.m., reserved seating. General public $30, student/child $15. This mystery is set in the prohibition era. The book, music and lyrics are by Andrew Lippa based on a poem by Joseph Moncure March. Director: Dr. Jessica Hillman-McCord.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Unused or expired prescription medication can be safely disposed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Alstar Ambulance, 738 Monroe St., Dunkirk; Westfield Family Physicians, 138 E. Main St., Westfield or Chautauqua Mall Parking Lot, 318 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood across from Aspire. The event is free and anonymous. Liquids and sharps will not be accepted.

Jamestown Public Market

Kinda Scared at the Fair

Partners in Kind of Chautauqua County is hosting adrive-through trick or treating event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vehicles will be looped through the back parking lot at the County Fairgrounds on Waldorf Road near Brigham Road in Dunkirk, with no visitors exiting their vehicle. Attendees can dress in costume as they come through the track and stop at the various stations (volunteers in kid-friendly costumes). Volunteers will place a variety of holiday treats through the car window. The event is free, but donations of any of the following items for local school food pantries are happily accepted: Uncrustables, Ramen cups, Spaghettio/Ravioli cups, Ez Mac cups, fruit cups, applesauce pouches, yogurt pouches, granola or breakfast bars, cereal cups, rice cups, mashed potato cups, vegetable cups, peanut butter and jelly (plastic containers), hot cocoa. instant twist top soups, deodorant, toothpaste/toothbrush combos, gently used hats and gloves. gallon ziplock bags for hats/gloves. No canned goods will be accepted. Items donated will be given to children who may be responsible for making their own meals, therefore only easy-open containers will be accepted.

Rabies vaccine

There will be a free rabies vaccination clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. at the town of Portland highway barn, 1934 Route 20, Brocton. All dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older are eligible. Visit https://chqgov.com/environmental-health/rabies-prevention for details.

Live at the Met: Fire Shut Up in My Bones

1891 Fredonia Opera House, 1 p.m. General Admission $20, $18 Opera House Members, $10 Students. The first opera by a black composer presented on the Met stage and featuring a libretto by filmmaker Kasi Lemmons, the opera tells a poignant and profound story about a young man’s journey to overcome a life of trauma and hardship.At this time, ALL patrons are asked to wear masks when attending Opera House events.

Blessing of the Animals Service

Pastor Tom LeBeau will bless all dogs, cats, birds, rodents, and any other domesticated pet in the parking lot of the Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, 385 S. Main St., Jamestown at 1 p.m.. All animals must be either in carriers or leashed.There will be a time in the service to remember animal friends who have died in the past year. People are invited to bring pictures of those pets as well. Both animals and humans are invited to stay for refreshments after the service. Call 488-1680 for details..

Cassadaga American Legion fund-raiser for Oshei’s Children’s Hospital

A Terry Buchwald concert will be held at the Cassadaga Legion, 228 Maple Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the concert starting at 6. Tickets are $25, including a dinner of a quarter barbecue chicken with macaroni salad, applesauce, roll, butter and cake. Just the show is $15 or just dinner is $12. Angola Public Library harvest dinner fundraiser

Cala’s Catering will provide a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings at the Evans Center Fire Hall on Erie Road with proceeds benefiting the Angola Public Library. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a cash bar available and dinner at 7. There will also be a basket auction, 50-50 drawing and strolling violinist.

Sing A Long A Sound of Music

The Reg Lenna Civic Center, 116 E. Third St., Jamestown, presents this interactive evening at 6 p.m. The musical is screened complete with lyric subtitles. a vocal warm-up, judging the fancy dress competition and teaching how to use items in the free interactive props bag. Dress up encouraged. Tickets are $20 per admission for adults, $12 for ages 18 and under and theater restoration fees per patron. Masks are recommended for all.

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present the comedy drama “23 Walks” at 7:30 p.m. It stars Dave Johns and Alison Steadman as two older strangers finding love later in life. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6.50 for Opera House members/seniors, $5 for students, At this time, ALL patrons are asked to wear masks when attending Opera House events.
