Fredonia begins flushing Sunday

At 11 p.m. Sunday, Fredonia will start flushing water mains and fire hydrants in and around the village. Flushing will be done from 11 p.m. to 7 p.m. to minimize problems with water during the day. The flushing will take approximately two weeks and during this process, residents may experience turbid water and reduced water pressure. The village recommends that residents check the quality of their water before doing laundry.

Novena, Healing Mass services announced

WESTFIELD — A Holy Spirit Novena with Adoration and Rosary will take place from May 19 to 27 at St. Dominic Church, 15 Union St., Westfield. Rev. David Tourville will be the celebrant. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call the church office at 716 326-2816.

Pelletter to speak at Imagine Forestville

FORESTVILLE — Imagine Forestville will hold its next meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Forestville Meeting House, also known as lower hotel, at 37 Center St. The guest speaker will be the historian for the village of Silver Creek and Town Board member Lou Pelletter. He will do a presentation on “The Town of Hanover and the Civil War.” All are welcome to attend. The monthly meeting will be immediately after the presentation. For questions call, 716-965-4321.

Congregation sets Sunday service

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua, at 222 Temple St., Fredonia, holds a Sunday worship service at 11 a.m., both at their physical location and on Zoom. For those wishing to join us virtually, please visit https://tinyurl.com/caluucnc. Click on “Worship Service” on the date you are attending and scroll down for the Zoom link. For those attending the in-person service, please follow the driveway and park in the lower lot behind the building.

The theme for May is Creativity. On Sunday, the service is entitled “A Review of Historical Creativity,” with the Rev. Sally Hamlin.

Following the service, there will be coffee, tea, and light refreshments.
