Route 380 work underway

Construction crews will be rehabilitating Kimball Stand-Stockton Road, County Route 380, starting Monday and ending July 12. The road will not be closed. Expect lane closures with flaggers and signs from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays during the construction period. A detour will not be posted. Drivers should plan on taking an alternate route.

SOAR Chapter meets Tuesday

SOAR Chapter 4-1 will meet Tuesday at the USW Local Union Hall on Fourth Street in Dunkirk. The meeting will be at noon with lunch to follow. All SOAR members and retirees are invited to attend. For further information call Jim Bickhart at 716-366-1485.

Fredonia GOP to caucus Saturday

The caucus to select Fredonia’s Republican candidates in the November election will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Barker Library’s Community Room, at 7 Day St.

Steel retirees

meeting July 1

Retirees of Al Tech and Dunkirk Specialty Steel will meet on Saturday, July 1 at Demitri’s Restaurant, Lake Shore Drive West near the city pier. All retirees are invited to attend.

Respite group offers support

WESTFIELD — Westfield Alzheimer’s Social Respite is a group of volunteers who on the second Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Chruch at 101 E. Main St. The group offers a free respite for loved ones. There is one-to-one assistance with guests.

Throughout the time together, the group offers light exercise, painting table top, bowling, seasonal music, karaoke and bingo. They also provide a lunch and beverages.
