Man injured in Route 39 accident in Hanover

HANOVER — An accident at Route 39 and Hanover Road has injured one person and led to charges for another.

At approximately 12:06 p.m. Saturday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies, along with Forestville Fire Department and EMS responded to the incident. Further investigation found that Dana M. Herman, 47, of Angola, was stopped at the intersection and failed to see another vehicle.

Herman pulled out in front of this vehicle, which caused the collision. Herman and her 16-year-old passenger were not injured as a result of the accident. However, the 64-year-old male operator of the other vehicle was injured due to the accident. He was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment for his injuries.

Herman was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign, and will answer her charge in Town of Hanover Court on a later date.
