Memories made at special event
There are moments when everyone who participates is a winner. That is assuredly the case with the annual Special Olympics event at the State University of New York of Fredonia.
Last week, more than 300 students and numerous volunteers turned out in force in Steele Hall arena. Athletes participated in walking races, relays and softball throws, to name a few.
“(I volunteer) to see the smile on the kids’ faces,” said Bryan Gorman, who was in his seventh year of helping at the event.
And while there were numerous awards received, no one went home empty handed. The memories made at Special Olympics last forever.
