Pomfret announces Thursday paving

The town of Pomfret Highway Department will be closing Concord Drive from the Fredonia-Stockton Road to Chautauqua Road for paving from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Jude Gardner, Pomfret highway superintendent.

Westfield Quilters’ Guild meeting off

The Guild will not hold the monthly meeting in May, due to observance of the COVID-19 rulings and continued closing of the YWCA. We will hope for better times in June. Everyone stay safe and healthy, and keep working on those projects. It’s a blessing for most of us to have this craft to fill the many hours of isolation, and what better time to build up our Comfort quilts. Let’s hope we can all see each other in June.
