Gowanda School Board to meet

GOWANDA — The Gowanda Central School District Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, in the middle school library, 10674 Prospect St., Gowanda. Members of the public will not be permitted to attend the Board meeting in person. The meeting can be viewed via live stream at www.gowcsd.org. In addition, the meeting will be recorded and transcribed at a later date. Members of the public may email questions or comments for the Board of Education to msferneza@gcslearn.org. If members of the community wish to address the Board of Education directly they should email or call the District Clerk at 532-3325, ext. 6300. The Board of Education will address questions and concerns during their regularly scheduled meetings.

Pomfret will begin collecting tax payments

The town of Pomfret will begin collecting 2021 town and county tax payments on Wednesday. Tax collection will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Town Clerk’s Office, 9 Day St., Fredonia, through April 1. Due to COVID-19, mailing a payment or utilizing the Pomfret drop box is encouraged and preferred. When using the drop box or mailing a payment, include the entire tax bill, with a check made payable to “Town of Pomfret.” Once the bill is received, it will be marked ‘PAID’ and a receipt will be mailed. To enter Pomfret Town Hall a face mask is required and all persons are to maintain six feet apart for proper social distancing. For further information refer to the back of the tax bill.
