Vietnam ceremony set for Monday
Next week, U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy (NY-23) is proud to a 50th Anniversary Vietnam-Era Veteran Pinning Ceremonies, in partnership with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration. These special events will honor Vietnam War Era Veterans from New York’s 23rd Congressional District for their service and sacrifice.
The 2008 National Defense Authorization Act established the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration to honor living U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of where they were stationed.
Ceremonies will be Monday at Cassadaga High School Auditorium, 5935 Route 60, Sinclairville, at 2 p.m.
Langworthy invites all Vietnam War Era Veterans and their families to attend these ceremonies to be formally recognized for their contributions. To receive a pin and be honored at the event, veterans are encouraged to register at langworthy.house.gov/vietnam. Community supporters are also welcome to attend and show their appreciation for these veterans.

homeowners
WESTFIELD — The Village of Westfield has grant funds available to help low- and moderate-income homeowners make necessary home repairs. The Village of Westfield was awarded $493,000 and these Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds were awarded through the New York State Office of Community Renewal to assist seven homeowners living in the village.
The funds can be used for necessary repairs such as replacing old windows and doors, repairing or replacing roofs, repairing porches and entries, electrical, plumbing or heating system repairs, water and sewer laterals, etc. Anything that is necessary to assure the health and safety of the occupant and/or the structural integrity of the home is eligible, including modifications such as wheelchair ramps and walk-in showers. The program does not provide funds to remodel. In all cases, the property will be made lead-safe as part of the work that is done.
