Fredonia bookstore featured in TV presentation

On Sunday, Sept. 1, C-SPAN II’s Book-TV will air Jack Cashill’s presentation of his newest book, “Ashli: The Untold Story of the Women of January 6,” at 8:55 a.m., 11:55 a.m. 8:55 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. The presentation was recorded at the Next Chapter Book Store in Fredonia on July 29. This is the 13th Book-TV presentation by Cashill, a summer resident of Greencrest.

“Ashli” tells the story of ten women who went to Washington on January 6 to make a stand for constitutional rights and fair elections. Of the 10, only eight survived the day. Two — Ashli Babbitt and Rosanne Boyland — died as a result of police action. Of the remaining eight, seven have been or are currently incarcerated. The worst crime any of the eight was said to have committed was breaking a window. That woman, a mother of eight, is now serving four years in prison.

Says Cashill,”I really appreciate Next Chapter for having given me this opportunity. I have no reason to believe they share any of my views beyond a commitment to free speech.”

The Next Chapter Bookstore is operated by Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County and is the only bookstore in Fredonia. Located next door to its Education Center and across the street from Bakers Commons, Next Chapter is located at 12 Park Place, Fredonia.
